"ARYZ" (colour)

This Guy's one of my favourite artists working at the moment and he's doing some big things at the moment, but the reason im putting it on this blog is because of his use of colour , and while not always true to life i recon its fair to say this dudes got a good grip on colour theory...

YSP & Hepworth Gallery

This totem pole was nice, especially the head which was upside down, reminded me of the way your brain flips the image round that your eye receives, so we're kinda seeing the world upsidedown.

*Photog*

So this week we've been looking at examination... The act of examining or the state of being examined.
working in a group we had to photograph each other, and be photographed while in conversation. I definitely enjoyed the role of photographer more then model, it's really hard to act natural infront of a camera while its flashing away in your face.

Will Barras

Will Barras' work seems pretty relevant at the moment due to his stunning grasp of negative shapes that he uses to create these fantastical scenes & characters.  His work just keeps getting better and better since starting out with scrawl collective, looking forward to see what this guy does next.

Photographing Chesterfield

On my mission around chesterfield i wanted to capture some of the known landmarks of chesterfield and some of the less known ones. along with the people of chesterfield, i think if you really want to get the feel of an environment you look at what inhabits it.
From the abundence of elderly people wandering around slowly and chatting away in the market, to the usual types around The Portland, and even a brown bottle of what could easily be methodrone on the steps where you'll usualy find a group of pissed smackheads...
        ... welcome to chesterfield.

Life Drawing. #straight lines

in this weeks session we've been using strictly straight lines, in an effort to accuratly determine correct proportions. a technique that deffinitely helps create a very accurate skeletal structure to build on.

You'll have to excuse the poor quality of the image ( i'll get my camera sorted soon) but you get the idea of whats a gwarn.

Photography - day #1

these are my favourite images out of the ones taken around college , each feels fairly considered and balanced.
although from comparing these to my unsuccessful ones, and the photos taken by some people in my class, it's given me a bit of an insight into whats worth taking a photo of and whats not.

S'all in the compostion !
